Mission Statement

EarthChem empowers innovation and advances in the Earth, Ocean, and Environmental Sciences by enabling community-driven discovery, accessibility, interoperability, and reusability of geochemical, petrological, and related data.

Data Services
Data Mining and Analysis

PetDB is a searchable database of geochemical data from igneous and metamorphic rocks. Data are compiled primarily from the published literature. PetDB 2.0 offers an improved, simplified way to access the PetDB database.

EarthChem Portal gives users the ability to access PetDB, the GEOROC database, and the USGS National Geochemical Database simultaneously, as well as content from databases that are no longer actively maintained and accessible (SedDB, NAVDAT, MetPetDB).

Data Publication and Preservation

EarthChem Library is an open-access repository for geochemical datasets. The ECL offers a complete suite of services for data preservation and access, including long-term archiving and registration of data with Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs).

IEDA2 Ecosystem

EarthChem is part of an ecosystem of related projects governed by IEDA2.
